About: "Victims of Gravity Street Luge Down Under" provide a complete custom streetluge manufacturing service. Hand crafted pan style boards made to each riders individuality.
Craig "Sillyfella" Mears, board builder and creator of V.O.G. has been riding and building streetluges for 20 years. Starting at the age of 14 or 15 he modified his oldschool alva sk8ee trying to get faster, after that he was hooked. Upon advancing to aluminium boards he smoked 100kph and hasn't looked back. He is now 36, regularly competes in races around Australia and is chasing the 150kph mark and is constantly researching and developing his designs to achieve that goal.
All V.O.G. luges are built to suit the riders length,width,weight and arm length with safety and then speed in mind. Therefore it is important for Craig to meet each prospective luge pilot personally before making their board. This also creates the avenue for teaching or training as he will not sell a board to someone who can not "control a street luge safely".
About the Boards: All V.O.G. Streetluges are built using Construction grade 76 millimeter "C" channel gussets , boom and tail. Stainless steel countersunk bolts and nylock nuts with threaded 8 or 10 millimeter internal plate gussets.
There is a full 90 millimeters of drop from the top of the boom to the bottom of the pan creating the low centre of gravity. The pan is actually lower than the axles with the pan still holding a 20 millimetre ground clearance (depending on wheel diameter).
The newly designed handle bars incorporate both the fender and the handles. Therefore eliminating dangerous sharp edges and providing the handle bars with a more reactive relationship with the trucks.The opposing bend in the pan creates a more comfortable operating platform eliminating the sharp edge of a concave style bend. Complete boards weigh between 10 and 15 kilograms
V.OG. boards are a great all round board proving to be a strong and fast design with aggressive cornering ability.

SturgeBoards builds high end competition quality spined (or rail) luges. All SturgeBoards meet with IGSA specifications.
All our sleds are made from T5 aluminum. We use 4mm aluminum for our pans with a heavy C-channel spine. Combining these two elements gives you a very stable platform for high speed runs with the 4mm pan giving you flexibility for tight turning. You can run either a 6 or 8 wheel set up.
All our boards come powder coated, up to two colours can be chosen for any one board and just about any colour combination is possible. Vinyl graphics can be added to your board at no extra cost e.g. names, logo's ect... Vinyl graphics can be purchased separately to a luge. Contact us for a quote
Depending on the rider's size, we make a 15 inch wide pan with either a 36 to 38 inch long pan. Handles are made to suit the rider.
